Puppet Man
A reading of a new play-in-progress by Andrew Black
![]() Directed by Ty Stover
Puppets by Patrick Weigand
Puppet Man is a dramatic play, with puppets. Pretty Boy, a 22-year-old inmate at the North Central Correctional Institute, joins the facility's puppet theater program--a group which produces puppet plays for prisoners' kids on visiting days. Pretty Boy's dealer just raised his prices. Pretty Boy hopes to use the puppet program as a way to smuggle in commodities he can trade for the drugs that help him deal with life on the inside. The camaraderie in the group is new to Pretty Boy, and he begins to re-think his strategy. But his dealer is a mean sonofabitch, who has a lot riding on Pretty Boy's plans....
The full-length play will be read with some of Indianapolis' leading actors (and some of its leading puppets) Come at 7:00 and hear the reading, then participate in a talk back afterwards. This experience is your chance to participate in the development of a new play for the stage.
No charge, but a contribution to the IndyFringe will be appreciated.
