About

Founded in 2005, IndyFringe Theatre Festival enlivens downtown Indianapolis for 3-weeks every year, featuring more than 300 genre-defying local, national & international performances. By building a community of 15,000 adventurous theatre-goers, IndyFringe has returned $1.8 million in box office revenue to performing artists. To further invest in Midwest creative talent, IndyFringe expanded to include the IndyFringe Theatre, a multi-venue complex, and the new Fringe-on-Wheels mobile performance unit.

So What Do We Do?

As Indianapolis’ preeminent arts incubator, IndyFringe supports artists by providing resources for their work year-round. Our beautiful campus at 719 E. St. Clair street is home to three distinct venues, perfect for a wide range of artistic performances and corporate events.

In addition to our welcoming spaces, we also offer performers:

  • Technical advisement and personnel
  • Ticket sales management and customer service representatives
  • Marketing expertise
  • A collaborative environment
  • And more!

About the Fringe Festival

Central to our mission is our commitment to hosting the The Annual IndyFringe Theatre Festival. Since the first festival in 2005, the IndyFringe Theatre Festival has transformed the Mass Ave Cultural Arts District for 3 weeks during the summer.

Now more than double its original size, the festival spans the length of Mass Ave, and is home to hundreds of performances by dozens of acts over the course of 3 weekends. Selected largely by lottery, the Festival provides open and equitable access for artists of all disciplines to bring their work to our great city. From drama, to stand-up, musicals, buffon, cabaret, magic, storytelling, ballet, and more, we have seen it all! All artists and audiences are welcome at IndyFringe!
