Frequently Asked Questions

What is seeing a Fringe show like?

That depends on the show! Many of our acts are interactive and benefit from a lively, engaged, and vocal audience… but others are softer and more introspective pieces. If you have questions about what to expect inside the audience, ask the theatre captain at your venue or visit the audience services desk.

Doors open 10 minutes prior to each show

  • You can join the ticket-holder line starting up to 30 minutes prior to the show to ensure prompt entry.
  • All seats are first-come-first-served.
  • If a production is sold out, you may be asked to fill the audience from one side to another a-la-Disney.

No Late Entry
Shows start on time and may decide not to allow latecomers to avoid disruption. It is impossible to late seat in some theatres without audience members crossing the stage.

The IndyFringe Theatre Festival runs the length of Mass Ave, from Michigan Street, all the way to the Bottleworks District.

Parking in downtown can be complicated, and free parking is sparse. With that in mind, we have recommended three distinct, paid lots within close proximity to our theatres.

  • IndyFringe |  The Bottleworks District parking garage – 824 Massachusetts Avenue
  • The District Theatre |  Penrose building parking garage, access off of North Street
  • The Athenaeum |. Old National Center parking lot – Access off of North Street

At this time, vaccines and masks are suggested when adequate social distancing is not possible, but are not required for admission to the theatre.

Certain productions may ask for the front row of audience members to be masked, in which case masks will be provided.
